The Waltzing Waters were perhaps the most famous attraction at the Cape Coral Gardens. These dancing jets of water changed color and swayed in sync with music in an amazing show. Otto Przystawik of Germany designed the fountains. In 1920s Berlin, he operated Przystawik’s Dancing Fountains. The Rosens hired him to develop a much larger, more lavish display for their gardens. Otto’s son, Gunther Przystawik, operated the Waltzing Waters fountains in Cape Coral.

This historic postcard from Jack Rosen was sent while on a trip to Europe. He was there to examine the new Waltzing Waters fountains he had commissioned for his Cape Coral Gardens. It reads in part, “Checking on new fountain for garden. Looks very good.” Little did he know how good—the Waltzing Waters in Cape Coral became famous across America.
